We are delighted to announce that DST – Development Centre for Ship Technology and Transport Systems represented the WARRANT project at the 4th IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society Workshop on Intelligent and Automated Waterway Transportation (IAWT).
Held on November 18, 2025, in the Gold Coast, Australia, this prestigious workshop gathered world-class experts from academia, industry, and public authorities to discuss the future of digital and automated waterborne mobility.
Spotlight on the NOVA Testbed
During the event, DST featured the NOVA testbed, one of WARRANT’s core Living Labs. Through an engaging poster session, the team demonstrated how the project is tackling the challenges of:
1.Resilient Remote Operations: Ensuring control even in complex environments.
2.Inland Navigation Automation: Paving the way for the next generation of autonomous vessels.
3.Cybersecurity: Protecting automated systems against evolving digital threats.
In addition to the technical presentation, DST contributed to the workshop’s expert panel moderation, fostering a high-level dialogue on how safe and dependable waterborne transport can be achieved on a global scale.
International Impact
The participation of DST at this IEEE workshop significantly boosted the international visibility of the WARRANT project. It reinforced our role as a key player in defining the standards for resilient, automated waterway transportation.
A warm thank you to the DST team for showcasing our work and driving the conversation forward!
