WARRANT Research Presented at the IFAC World Congress 2026
September 1, 2026On 25 September 2026, the WARRANT project brought maritime stakeholders and project partners together for its Living Lab 1 workshop, focused on Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd deep-sea shipping operations.
The workshop explored how GNSS spoofing could affect a containership’s navigation systems and how adversarial attacks could affect AI-based computer vision. National Technical University of Athens presented its work on adapting HAZOP to assess risks in connected maritime systems.
Konnecta Systems then showed how the WARRANT project ontology and Knowledge Graph link hazards, system dependencies and operational evidence to support the assessment of possible responses.
Participants were invited to share their perspectives on the realism of the scenarios, missing threats and operational dependencies, and the safeguards that would be most useful to crews. Their feedback will inform the next stages of the Living Lab work.
We were also pleased to welcome our sister project D-NAVIO, which introduced its approach to AI-supported #digitaltwins and continuous maritime risk assessment. The exchange offered a starting point for further collaboration.
Thank you to DANAOS, INLECOM, NTUA, KONNECTA, all presenting partners and everyone who joined the discussion. We look forward to continuing this work across WARRANT’s Living Labs.
