WARRANT at Posidonia 2026
June 6, 2026New scientific contribution from the Delft University of Technology team within the WARRANT project!
The paper “Robust Vessel Maneuvering Modelling using Set-membership Identification” will be presented at the IFAC World Congress 2026 (Busan, Korea) this summer, showcasing an innovative approach for identifying ship maneuvering parameters to improve the modelling and prediction of vessel behaviour.
By providing parameter estimates together with guaranteed bounds, the proposed method enhances robustness, safety, and reliability, which are key requirements for autonomous maritime navigation and digital twin development.
Key Scientific Contributions
Key contributions include:
• Real-time parameter updates enabling robust model-based control design
• High identification accuracy validated through experimental trials
• Fast computational performance suitable for advanced maritime applications
Supporting the Objectives of WARRANT
This paper supports the objectives of the WARRANT project by contributing to vessel modelling, autonomous navigation, and the development of ship digital twins.
Congratulations to the authors and researchers involved in this important achievement (Abhishek Dhyani, Anastasios Tsolakis, Kasper van der El, Rudy Negenborn, Vasso Reppa)!
